Inspector FAQ's (10)

Does giving away HON memberships to my clients cost me anything?

No – Inspectors may give HON memberships to home buyers at no cost, but
there are a few requirements to get it and keep it for free.

a) You (the Inspector) must be a customer of one of HON’s Approved Vendors.
b) You must register every one of your inspection clients for HON
membership, some exceptions may apply, ie: your client refuses the gift.
c) You must use good marketing practices with HON in order to preserve and grow the brand.

Do the HON memberships cost my client anything?

NO – Their first year’s membership is complimentary because they used your
inspection service. If they went to the HON website without you it would cost
them $199 per year.

Will my client have to pay for membership after the first year is over?

HON members are given a choice of renewal options at the end of
each year. One option is to pay a discounted technical support renewal fee offered to
them. Use of the technical support service will expire at the end of each 12 month term
unless they renew their membership.

Will you spam my clients or sell their contact emails?

No – The Home Owners Network is a “Members Benefits” organization. Your
client’s information will be treated with the greatest respect. The first email to
them is a Confirmation of their acceptance of their membership. They will be
unable to use the “Ask the Experts” technical support for their homes unless
they click through to accept it. We do not intend to send your client constant
emails, solicitations.

What will be sent to my clients first and on an ongoing basis?

As stated in FAQ # 4 your client first receives a Welcome Confirmation email which confirms you are sending them free HON membership, and each month thereafter your client will receive the Home Owners Network Newsletter. You can see samples of these emails in the marketing section of your account. From time to time we will alert members of new benefits that are available or deals that are relevant. It is our intention to provide only quality benefits and offers.

Will my clients be able to opt out of their HON membership?

Yes – Anyone may opt out of the emails, membership or technical support
service at any time.

What are the first things I need to do to set up my HON account?

a. First you should complete your profile. Click on the “My Profile” link
at the upper right corner of the home page. This information is used to auto populate the welcome emails and newsletters sent to your clients so be sure to fill it out accurately. (the Bio is not important at first)

b. Upload your photo and logo. The welcome letter and newsletters
use the images you upload. You can view samples of this after you
upload these images by going to the Inspector Headquarters,
scrolling down the page and clicking on Sample Newsletter.
c. Watch all the videos on the site. These will help you understand the
program better and how to navigate around the site.

How do I add a client as a member of HON?

This is the most important aspect of the site and one of the simplest
things to do. Go to the Inspector Headquarters then click on Members on the top of the page. Complete
the form and hit submit. Your client will receive their confirmation email
within 24 hours.

Can I give HON memberships to my agents for promotion?

Yes – Your affiliation with our approved vendors gives you 25 free HON
memberships that you may give to agents you work with so they can see
the Power of HON. If you need more than 25, you will be able to purchase
those promotional memberships soon in the Inspector Headquarters.

Are there marketing tools available that I can customize for the HON program?

Yes – Inside the Inspector Headquarters there are logos for your website, flyers,
brochures, presentations and more being added regularly. Let us know
what you need and we will be happy to create it for you.

Membership questions (9)

If I didn’t buy the first house how do I reset my membership?

You do not need to reset your membership.  You merely log into the HON site  and go to your profile page and change the address to the house that you are going to buy.  If you haven’t decided yet, use your current address and enjoy HON services and benefits now.

Can I unsubscribe from HON?

Of course you can unsubscribe from HON.  While we are surprised anyone would want to, we absolutely will not force anyone to use our free technical support service or receive our great newsletters.

Can I post on the forums for help with anything?

Yes, you may use our forums in any reasonable way for home related issues or questions.  Of course we have some guidelines as you might expect, but feel free to ask anything from roofing questions to the best temperature to keep your freezer on.  No advertising is allowed on the forums.

I was given a membership, but didn’t buy a house. Can I cancel the membership and get a refund on the unused portion?

Memberships, once initiated, are not refundable for cash value, be it pro-rated or otherwise.  You may cancel if you wish, though.

Will my personal information be given or sold to anyone?

Absolutely not.  If you choose to work with a vendor that has a relationship with HON, it will be up to you to give them what information you wish.

Will I get a ton of spam emails?

ABSOLUTELY NOT!  Your membership includes a home owner’s newsletter each month with great tips and articles we know you will find useful for your home ownership.  We do not give out your email address to anyone else and we only respond to your technical support or help questions when you ask us.  From time to time we will have fun contests, great information, etc that we believe will benefit you and you will enjoy.  We value our members and we will limit our contact.

Can I purchase a membership for anyone I want?

Yes, memberships are available on the website for friends, family and business purposes.  From time to time we may run specials!  What a great gift idea!

Can my daughter use my membership and ask questions about her house?

To receive the full benefit of HON your family member should purchase their own individual membership.

Is my HON membership transferable?

Real Estate Agent FAQ's (15)

I can’t login from my phone

If it’s your first time logging in, login on the computer to change your Password. This will make logging in on your phone easier, as that Computer Generated Password can be a little tricky to type in on your phone.

Where can I change my Password?

Once you have logged in, select “My Account” located on the black bar on the top right hand side of the Dashboard.

I’m trying to update my Info on my ReferralGENIE Profile Page but it won’t save.

Try logging out and logging back in.
If the problem persists, clear your Browser History (Ctrl + H). Select “Clear Browsing Data” – “Obliterate the following items from the beginning of time” – “Clear Browsing Data”. Deselect “Autofill Form Data” and “Passwords” if you do not want to clear all saved information.

Are my clients receiving the monthly Newsletter?

The Home Owners Network Monthly Newsletter begins circulating 31 days after you come on board. Members should receive their first Newsletter starting in their second month of their Membership.

What does a Monthly Newsletter and Welcome Email look like?

Take a look! Go to Custom Settings – Marketing Materials. You can view a sample of a Welcome Email and Newsletter with your Branding. You can even update your Monthly Newsletter Message!

What is my username/password?

Your Username is the email address you provided when you signed up.
If you are not logged in, you can reset your Password by following “Forgot/Update Your Password” on the login page. If you are logged in, you can changed your password in the accounts section.

Does Providing HON memberships comply with gifting and rebating regulations?

Yes – We have created a program that has several different types of memberships that have values that are appropriate for different state laws. You need to consult your own state regulations to understand what value you may provide to a client as a thank you. Part of the fee you are paying is not the value of the membership but rather a marketing fee of your new loyalty program.

Do the HON memberships cost my client anything?

NO –They receive a lifetime membership or 90 days with full benefits of membership because they are your client.

Site Technical Questions (4)

How do I retrieve my welcome email to get my password?

Your welcome email sends you a temporary password.  You can easily just reset your password  by clicking here and then entering your email address as your username.  A new password will be sent to you.

Where do I change my personal information?

You simply log in and go to your profile page (link located in upper right menu bar at the top of the site) and you can update all of your information there.

Where do I find member discounts on the site?

You can access the Member exclusive Deals page from the main menu or from the footer-both appear on every page of the site.  This is protected content for our members so please log in first.

How do I get the HON “Ask the Experts” app on my smartphone?

Your HON membership includes our patent pending phone app.  First, go to your phone service’s app store.   Next, search for “Home Owners Network”.   Then, download the app to your phone.  When you first open the app it will prompt you for a username and password.  These are exactly the same username and password as you use for logging into the HON website.  Remember everything is case sensitive on the app as well as the website.  Once you enter your information on the app click enter and you are in.  The app will now open each time you need to ask a question.
