An inlet is an additional opening in a fitting. A low-heel-inlet is located in a straight line with one opening of the fitting. A high-heel-inlet is located above the curved portion of the fitting. A side-inlet occurs on one or both sides of the fitting. Inlets are found on some quarter bend fittings and some sanitary tee fittings.
